Emma McLerie

Veterinary Nurse

Emma graduated as a Veterinary Nurse in December 2018 and joined the Hammond Park Veterinary Clinic team in April 2020. She hasn’t looked back since, and is now a familiar and friendly face to both clients and patients alike.

Born and raised in Kalgoorlie, Emma now happily calls Perth home. When she’s not at work, she’s usually surrounded by animals — including her own pets, a foster cat, and the occasional wildlife patient who has temporarily decided her house is theirs.

Emma is a registered wildlife rehabilitator with a particular soft spot for reptiles, especially bobtail lizards. Her love of enrichment and wellbeing extends beyond the clinic, where she hand-makes snuffle mats to keep pets mentally stimulated, engaged, and happily busy.

When she’s not nursing patients (domestic or wild), Emma enjoys visiting local markets, bushwalking, and spending time with family and friends. She is deeply passionate about veterinary nursing, with special interests in wildlife care, client education, mental enrichment, and running puppy preschool classes — helping set puppies (and their humans) up for a lifetime of success.
